What is Reiki?

Reiki has been referred to as "Unviersal Life Force Energy," in fact, that is the Japanese meaning of the words Rei-ki. It is also called "Laying on of the Hands." I prefer the more scientific explanation—we accept that everything is made up of atoms. And atoms are composed of negative, positive, and neutral particles of energy. These particles are pure energy.

Therefore, atoms are made up of pure energy. Since everything is made up of atoms, everything is pure energy! Even you! Reiki provides a way to harness and focus this energy to return the person, the atom, the particles to a state of balance. Reiki heals energy imbalances. By healing the energy imbalance, physical healing may also occur. The Reiki practioner, through the attunement process, is brought into a state of balance.

He maintains this balance by performing regular self-treatments. When one is balanced, the energy that exists everywhere is able to flow freely throught the practioner focusing it where it exits via the hands, feet, and eyes. Anyone, any age, can become attuned to Reiki. Once attuned, anyone can heal with the energy they channel through their body.
